Grabbing active row number from active cell

Not sure if I'm just searching google wrong, but I'm just simply trying to procedurally grab the row number it's current at. For instance I have a bunch of rows, so I want to be able to do write an import script in a cell, like this:

@Variable = =ROW(A, THIS IS WHERE I NEED THE CURRENT ROW NUMBER)

I've search all over google only to find irrelevant VB code that I don't need, I can't find anywhere where to simply get the current row number.
